Quality
At Albert Jagger Engineering Limited, we are dedicated to ensuring total customer commitment and satisfaction. With a Quality Assurance System approved to BS EN ISO 9001:2015 standards, we can guarantee that each stage of manufacture is subject to careful scrutiny by our highly trained team of experienced quality control staff.
At Albert Jagger Engineering, every effort is made to ensure that we meet the highest standards of quality and service possible, bringing superb benefits to all of our customers. By working to a right-first-time philosophy, we promote an atmosphere that is focused on defect prevention and waste reduction within the organisation and throughout our supply chain.
We use core tools such as failure mode effective analysis (FMEA) and statistical process control (SPC) to achieve a process control plan. Detailed initial sample reports (ISR) and production part approval process (PPAP) reports are also used to ensure product compliance to customer-specific requirements.
Our quality processes focus on zero defects, making use of dedicated calibrated gauges and fixtures, including the latest coordinate measuring machine (CMM) technology. CMMs allow us to measure the X, Y and Z axes and test them against the design intent. This technology can additionally repeatedly measure identical parts, making them a key part of our quality assurance processes by ensuring a high level of consistency.
Our chosen model is the Axiom 2 CNC CMM, the all-aluminium bridge structure of which ensures that it has low inertia and high acceleration to get the job done quickly. The aluminium structure additionally observes the temperature of the machine, rapidly following the temperature of the room and compensating its software reports results in order to display them as if they had been recorded at 20°C/68°F. The high-tech granite and aluminium table, which was originally designed for the optics industry, provides fantastic natural damping of high-frequency vibrations, protecting it from environmental vibrations and securing an accurate measurement every time.
New part introduction (NPI) is driven by a rigorous advanced product quality planning (APQP) routine. This starts with an initial feasibility review before timing plans are assessed and inspections are carried out, finally moving through to a final conforming product. The whole process is observed by an appointed project management leader, who is fully responsible for all points of procedure.
Despite all of the machines and technology that are available for quality assurance, we know that our employees are the true heart of the success of our business. That’s why we invest in our people, guaranteeing that they have the expertise, skills and competence to carry out their respective duties and achieve our quality promises through ongoing development training.
